Imagine immersing yourself in the stunning landscapes of East Africa, teeming with wildlife. Imagine spending time with the indigenous Maasai people – the original masters of natural healing practices. Your heart begins to dance as you feel the spirit of the people, and you literally feel the earth breathe.
An African wildlife safari has always been a healing experience for many people. The Healing Safari is special in that it marries a traditional African safari with a health and wellness retreat.
Wake up in your gorgeous, eco-luxury lodge to the sounds of a chorus of birds and lions roaring in the distance. The natural light awakens you, you feel alive.
Your days begin with a guided meditation, opening your eyes to view Mt. Kilimanjaro smiling at you. Practice yoga, tailored to your level, with giraffes moving in the distance, inspiring you to flow at your natural pace.
Learn some secrets, timeless wisdom, of the Maasai that help you simplify your life as you uncover its profound meaning. Enjoy delicious meals made with love by East African chefs crafted with local ingredients. All while journeying from the mountains, to the Serengeti plains and to the forested highlands, home to herds of elephants.
Day 1-3: Maasailand
Welcome to Tanzania! Karibu Tanzania!
You are warmly greeted at Kilimanjaro International Airport and driven into the bush towards Maasai Lodge – Africa Amini, nestled in-between Mt Kilimanjaro (19,341 ft.) and Mt. Meru (14,997 ft). This is where you immerse yourself for the first three days in Tanzania, a special place where you immediately come to rest and reflect. In the middle of the wilderness of the Maasai steppe, you will stay in the comforts of a traditional bungalow, complete with all the modern-day essentials.
We will spend our days practicing yoga and meditation in the most peaceful and stunning of settings; nature walks with Maasai guides and learning about the traditions and stories from the people of this land.
This is the best place to get to know the rituals and practices of the Maasai people, traditions that have kept them strong, beautiful and proud for centuries. There is a pool over-looking the savannah and a sauna and massage room. Meals are made with love, combining indigenous foods with modern recipes. Most dietary sensitivities can be catered for on the Healing Safari.
From your bed, you may see the sunrise over Mt. Kilimanjaro in the morning, and late afternoon walks upon the earth allow you to feel the pulse of this land. The primordial African bush is one of the most profound ways to re-connect with nature in its purest form. A place where your mind, body and spirit find grounding, and you can truly relax.
