Belize – Mayan Cultural Immersion VISA

Delve into Belize Mayan past and present culture  with award winning tour guide Martin Ack. During this Belize people to people experience you will learn about the translation of some of the hieroglyphics as well as the history of the Mayas up to present day.

You will also meet Martin’s family and learn about Mayan day to day life in Belize.  Spending time with them virtually will provide a unique insight into everyday life.

• Chocolate Making- Bean to Bar Experience.  Students will participate in the cultural aspects of this Mayan Gold product through a chocolate workshop. It’s truly a virtual bean to bar experience!
• Art and Craft- Bracelet Making.  Students will learn to weave colorful cultural bracelets or embroidery art taught by Andrea Ack.
• Traditional Maya Food- Caldo (we can send the dried herbs and spices) Engage in a tasty online experience- from catching the chicken to digging up fresh ground foods in rural villages in Toledo and making hot corn tortillas on fire hearth, this will be a culinary experience like no other. We will also share how to substitute some of the ingredients so that students can make it themselves in the US. Some of the herbs and spice can be locally dried and packaged and shipped to them before hand as well. Every dish has a story and the Caldo is not exception. This will be an engaging cultural experience.
