Are you ready to see Cuba, up close and person?  If yes,  this is a travel experience you will treasure forever.

Day 1

On arrival our Welcome VIP Service that will help you locate your luggage and speed up formalities for immigration and customs Service will include access to the VIP lounges and welcome cocktail to be introduced to your guide. After a short transfer to your hotel, check-in and enjoy lunch at El Litoral restaurant or similar. After lunch, walk through Old Havana and learn about the recovery, conservation and re-development of the historical centre, visiting San Francisco, Plaza Vieja,Plaza de Armas and Plaza de la Cathedral. Continue a walk thru Obispo Street and visit the Floridita bar, home of the famous daiquiri and another of Hemingway’s haunts. Board your bus for the short ride to the hotel. Dinner tonight will be at Restaurant Los Mercaderes or similar, following visiting La Cabaña fortress to see beautiful Havana in the evening back to the hotel by 10pm. (Lunch and dinner.) Overnight at B&B

Day 2

Havana After breakfast, departing to the Afro Cuban Culture for a lecture. After a visit to the National Folklore Company and enjoy a dance show. Lunch in a private restaurant. After a visit to Muralenadio Community Social Art Project in Lawton neighborhood. In the afternoon a visit to Caturla School to see the African Roots in Cuban music. Continue to Salsa classes at El Chevere. Return to the B&B. Optional-Those interesting may sign up for the Buena Vista Social Club in Havana Café. (Not Included) (Breakfast, lunch and dinner)

Day 3

Havana After breakfast depart on the bus for a visit at Callejon De Hammel with the explanation about the Abacua Afro Religion. Following to Quisicuaba Association to experience a Santeria Cleansing ritual, followed by a visit to Taller del Sol, Choco’s Studio one of the best Cuban painter located in Old Vieja. Lunch at Ivan Chef Justo Or similar in the area, continue to travel by ferry to Regla, probably named for a West African Yoruba deity, this seafarer’s and fisherman’s enclave retains a rough vitality. Originally a camp for black slaves especially of the Ibibio, Bantu and Yoruba tribes, Reglas’s Afro Cuban roots are strong. The water front Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Regla, the first stop as you leave the ferry, was built in 1810. It’s famous as the home of La Virgen de Regla (The Black virgin of Regla) a black Madonna who cradles a white infant. Identified with Yemaya, the Yoruba orisha of the sea. After visiting the church continue to the Studio of the late artist Canet and meet someone of the Office of the Historian of Regla. From there we will walk to the Museum of Regla where you will be received by the important local Afro-Cuban group to see alive Afro-Cuban performance and enjoy Afro-Cuban music, maybe a visit with Obsession a famouns Afro-Cuban Hip- Hop and a political activist group to talk about Race in Cuba. Visit Guanabacao Museum with a short conference about Abakua Brotherhood with a professor Ramon Torres Zayas. Panoramic view of graffiti artist from the Havana suburb of Alamar, return to hotel. Dinner tonight will be at la Guarida. To keep you in the Cuban mood we have schedule a Jazz activity at La Zorra y El Cuervo including front table’s cover charge plus 2 drinks plus an appetizer. Near to the date, we will have the Schedule and we will announce who will be playing that night. Breakfast, Lunch and dinner

Day 4

Havana-Matanzas-Varadero-Havana Enjoy your breakfast and get ready to board the bus for a 90-minute ride to the city of Matanzas and visit the Bellamar Caves, an enormous cavern and a National Monument of Cuba. Walk down about 100 ft. through narrow corridors leading to large caverns to admire the crystal natural formations and have a drink of spring water from the “Fountain of Youth” and “Fountain of Love”. Back on the road, continue for a visit to Matanzas City with Isabel Hernandez Reserched about Slavery in Cuba, and visit the Matanzas Museum of Arts and San Severino Fortress where the Museum of the Slave Trade, World Heritage Route is. Visit the Ruins of the Triunvirato Sugar Batey, now a days Museo del Esclavo Rebelde, lunch at La Alboleda. After lunch depart to Jovellanos, where families trace their ancestry in Beinin, Angola, Congo. Return to Havana. Dinner at Star Bien or similar (Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 5

Havana –Soroa-Viñales After breakfast at your hotel, board the bus for a 3 hour trip to the countryside of Pinar del Rio and see the beauty of the Viñales Valley with its limestone mogotes. With a specialized area guide, walk through the valley, visiting the local tobacco plantation owners. A break for lunch at a private farm before departing to Soroa. We will visit the Soroa Orchid Garden and other private garden in the area, depends of their availability in which the US and Cuban participants will discuss, among other topics, gardening and parks in both the US and Cuba and the trend toward growing organic in both countries. Retune to Havana. Farewell Dinner at Rio Mar. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner)

Day 6

Havana transfer out Transfer to Havana Airport for your flight back to the USA
